Spoon Feeding Here We Come

Our experience with Thick It has been mixed.  The babies are spitting up less and Tayden is eating more than ever before, but they are having explosive tummy problems.  We aren't sure if this is due to the Thick It, or the antibiotics that the pulmonologist put them on to help with the reflux.  Our pediatrician suggested we use probiotics which we started on Tuesday, and if they are still having tummy problems this coming Tuesday, we will look at stopping the Thick It or the antibiotic.  We took the twins to their 4 month check-up this past Tuesday.  Tayden weighed in at 12 lbs. which put him in the 67th percentile for 30 weekers and Brooklyn weighed in at 12 lbs. 12 oz. which put her in the 95th percentile for 30 weekers!!!!  (On our scale at home we could never get an accurate read because she is a wiggle worm.  It would go between 12-13 never landing on one exact number).  Dr. Hunt was so impressed with their weight gain and said that they are really looking great.  Both babies seem to be short for some reason (he he he).  They are measuring in the 25th percentile for height.  We got the green light to start spoon feeding with rice cereal.  This is to get the babies used to eating from a spoon and then we will start adding baby food at the 6 month mark.  We tried spoon feeding Brooklyn first and it went very well.  She got tired of sitting in her Bumbo chair so I moved her to my lap and she ate a little more.  We are going to try Tayden tomorrow evening.  I thought bottle feeding two babies was hard, but it will definitely be a challenge to bottle feed and spoon feed both!!!  This evening Tim's sweet mom came to visit and brought us an awesome double stroller!!  Thank you so much BranMa!  We love you!  Tomorrow morning we have to be in Plano at 8 a.m. for the upper gis and video swallow studies that the pulmonologist ordered.  Then at 1 p.m. ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) is coming to the house to assess the twins' development.  It will definitely make for a very long day, but hopefully we will get a good report on all fronts.  I will update tomorrow after our journey and YES I DID FILL UP THE CAR WITH GAS THIS EVENING!!!!
