My mom went to Abilene recently for my Nana's birthday and bought the twins their first ACU t-shirts. I can definitely see a lot of purple and white in their future! I have gotten into the swing of being back at work and I only call a few times during the day to check on Tim and the babies. Tim is still really enjoying being at home, which gives me great comfort during the day. We have added fruit to food rotation and of course Tayden loves it. Brooklyn seems to like it a little more than veggies, but still does her share of gagging and spitting. The babies have grown so much that they are now wearing 6 month clothing. When I was pregnant we bought Steeler onesies for the babies that were 6 months. When they were born I remember looking in the closet and thinking that they would never fit in clothes that big, but now they will be able to wear them on opening weekend to root on Pittsburgh! This Saturday we are having 6 month pictures taken. It has been a real challenge to coordinate outfits, but I think we are ready. Have a great rest of the week!

6 months old!!!!
The babies turned 6 months old last Wednesday!!! It is so hard to believe that they are already half of a year old. They went to the pediatrician and she said that they look fantastic. Brooklyn weighed 16 pounds and Tayden weighed 15 pounds 1 ounce. She said that we can start feeding them baby food now. She suggested that we start with vegetables and continue for two weeks before adding fruits. So far, Tayden has loved everything we have given him, but Brooklyn is pretty finicky. She gags at most of the things we try to give her. I am hoping she will like fruits and meats better when we start those in another week. Tim is loving every minute of his time at home. He has developed his routine and can now tell you what shows he prefers on PBS Kids and NOGIN. Last week I was under the weather and when I got home from work he sent me to bed. When I woke up 4 hours later he had prepared dinner and even made an egg wash. I was so very impressed!!! I ate and went right back to sleep, so he literally did all ten feedings that day. I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband!! I love you Tim and I appreciate all that you do for our family!
Just a reminder of what our miracles looked like 6 months ago:
Here is a video of Tayden doing the trick my Aunt Sara taught him on our vacation to Houston and Galveston.
Here is a video of Brooklyn showing off her personality.
I cannot watch this last video without laughing out loud. Last night Tim, Tayden, and I were watching Master Chef on tv. They were talking about coumin being an ingredient in the chili they were preparing. I started asking Tayden if he had the coumin in his mouth - his response was hilarious.

Twins' 1st Vacation
We recently decided that the twins are old enough to travel and that if we were going to go somewhere it needed to be soon before we "hibernate" during RSV season (October-April). We left on Saturday and went to Houston to visit my Aunt Sara and Uncle Dean. I made lists for days to prepare for the trip and then took three evenings to pack up all of the bottles, diapers, clothes, blankets, burp rags, etc. We recruited my mom to come with us to serve as an extra pair of hands - thank you SueSue for being such a great help! The babies did great in the car - slept for almost the entire trip. My cousin Kasey and her husband David came in from Corpus to surprise us and meet the twins. We were also able to see my cousin Kevin and his wife Megan. My aunt and uncle are always the perfect host and hostess and pamper us to the point that we don't ever want to come home. We enjoyed our time at their home so very much - thank you for everything Sara and Dean!! We stayed in Houston for two nights and then packed up and headed to Galveston to stay at my good friend Jennifer's beach house. It is on the outside of town on a private strip of beach so we didn't have to mess with crowds. The house was amazing - especially the view from the porch and the elevator that helped us transport all of the baby gear up and down. We didn't go out during the day due to the heat, but did go to a few fun restaurants at night (Tim and I had date night thanks to SueSue and Sara)and also took the twins down to the water around 8:00 both nights we were there. It was so much fun to dress them in their bathing suits and watch their reactions as the waves hit their legs. They were wiped out both nights and slept quite well. We got up on Wednesday and headed home - very sad that our vacation had come to an end. Once again the babies did beautifully in the car. We had a great time with our family and are ready to go back and visit very soon!
