It has been a great week! The babies continue to grow and thrive and their personalities are so much fun. We got some good news this week - the twins' pediatrician will be able to give them the Synagis shot, so we will not have to drive to Plano every month!!! The doctor said that during RSV season (October-April) we are okay to take the twins to open-air places such as parks, but we should avoid crowded places such as restaurants, the mall, and church. They will get the shot, which is not a vaccine, but would help greatly if they were to get RSV. Once we get through this first season we should be okay.
Grandma Dorothy (Tim's mom) came over this week and was very impressed with how much the babies have grown. Both babies really showed off for her. On Friday, we took the twins to their first football game. Their Uncle Joey was coaching and we went to cheer him on. They enjoyed people watching and Brooklyn especially loved the band at halftime. They slept all the way home!!!!
We got the babies some winter pjs and they are so precious!! We bought them 12 months thinking they would be really big and the babies would grow into them, but they fit perfectly. To me there is nothing better than a freshly bathed baby, wearing baby lotion and new pjs. Each day is a new adventure for us and as tired as we may be, we realize that we are two of the luckiest people in the world! God has given us two precious gifts and we are so fortunate to have front row seats to watch them grow and change. When I hold them in my arms, hear them laugh, watch them experience something for the first time, the fear and uncertainity of their birth and first two months of life slowly fades. I will never forget how our journey started, but I am able to relax and enjoy where we are and dream of where we are going.

Follow-up With Pulmonologist
The twins had a follow-up visit to their pulmonologist on Thursday, so Tim, my mom, and my Aunt Sara (in town from Houston) loaded up and made the journey to Plano. The babies got great reports. Brooklyn weighed in at 18 pounds 4 ounces, and Tayden was 16 pounds 11 ounces. The doctor was once again impressed with their weight gain and said that they are definitely thriving. Our pediatrician always gives us percentiles for weight and height using a scale for preemies born at 30 weeks. The pulmonologist used the 40 week scale, and the twins are registering on the scale!!! He does want them to continue using their inhaler and they will be getting the synagis shot for RSV once a month October - February.
As I mentioned earlier, my Aunt Sara and Uncle Dean were here visiting this weekend and so the whole family got together for dinner at Sue Sue's. We got a few pictures of the cousins together. It was so good to see everyone!
After much prayer and discussion, we have decided to take our house off the market until after the holidays. As much as we would love more space - we are going to make this work for awhile. I spent some time this evening getting out the pictures I had put away when Tim first put our house on the market, and setting up our office/playroom. I also had to make room in the kitchen because we got highchairs!!! I was able to get some pictures of Brooklyn eating, and I will get some of Tayden tomorrow.
Brooklyn has started to like solids a little more and tonight she ate corn casserole and carrots! She always spits the first few bites out until she realizes that she likes it. She has started to growl and it is hilarious. Tayden is still loving his solids! He eats at least a jar a day if not more. He is a night owl and really puts on a show in the evenings - laughing and talking. I usually go to bed and take Brooklyn with me, while Tim stays up with Tayden until he gets calmed down. Both babies are sleeping from about 10-12 hours at night and then take a morning nap and an afternoon nap. We are so fortunate that they are such good sleepers!
I would like to request prayers for a friend of mine that is battling cancer. They discovered it when she was around 29 weeks pregnant. Her sweet baby girl was born at 32 weeks and they are still determining a treatment plan on how to best attack the cancer. She has such a strong faith and is relying on God to get her through these dark days. I cannot imagine being in this situation and I pray daily for God to restore her body to health.
I hope that everyone has a great week! I am going to try my best to start updating the blog every Sunday night - so check back every now and then.

Opening Weekend
This weekend the twins rocked their Steelers onesies in support of the first official game of the season. It was neat to see Tim watching the game while holding Tayden - a father-son tradition in the making. On this same weekend last year we were in the ER thinking that I had miscarried one or both babies, and ended up hearing both heartbeats for the first time. It is amazing to think of how far we have come since that terrifying day. God carried us through that day and every day since and we now have two precious, healthy babies. Tayden has been battling a stuffy nose and a cough. Tim took him to the doctor on Tuesday and she thought that it was just his allergies. We have started him back on nebulizer breathing treatments to help with the wheezing. I am in the process of scanning all of the six month pictures so check back soon to see those!

Sitting Up
Brooklyn has started to sit up on her own! She will sit for a few minutes and then slowly start to lean to the side and crash. She is still being very particular about eating baby food. On Thursday I gave her bananas mixed with oatmeal and she actually ate about half of a jar - so I think we have found something she likes. She continues to be very verbal and coos and laughs most of the day. We weighed her this week and she was 17 pounds 3 ounces.
Tayden is doing great with his tummy time. He is holding his head up like a champ, but he still has the tendancy to lean it to one side. Tim continues to do his neck stretches with him each day. He absolutely LOVES baby food of any kind. He will eat it warm, cold, with oatmeal or straight out of the jar. Tayden has become as verbal as his sister and especially comes to life at night with lots of laughing and cooing. When we weighed him he was 16 pounds.
Both babies have cut back from 5 bottles a day to 4 larger ones. We are feeding them baby food 1-2 times a day. They usually take 1 or 2 good naps during the day and then go to bed between 10 - midnight. They both sleep all the way through the night until about 9 a.m. Tim still enjoys being home with them and the bond he has with them is amazing. They love their daddy!!!
Our house did show once this week and the feedback was the same as always. Beautiful flooring, great backyard, tiny kitchen!!! UGH!!!! Please continue to pray that our house will sell in a timely manner!
