I apologize for not writing sooner, but my official duties as a mom have begun and I am loving every minute of it. We got Brooklyn home yesterday afternoon and gave her a tour of the house and then spent the evening relaxing and unpacking. My mom brought us dinner and stayed to help us throughout the night. Brooklyn woke up every 3-4 hours and then would sit in her bouncy seat while she slept. When I would try and lay her in the bassinet she would start to cry. I was able to get some sleep thanks to Tim, my mom, and Brooklyn's monitor giving me peace of mind. Today we just hung out around the house and then headed to the hospital to visit Tayden. Tim and I took turns staying in the car circling the parking lot with Brooklyn, while the other was inside. They did a swallow study on him today to see if he was aspirating when he ate - which could be contributing to his breathing struggles. The results were very good news - he does not aspirate! He does take in a lot of air, so we need to make sure and burp him very often. The doctor believes that giving him a round of steroids could really help his lungs get stronger. She is going to start them on Monday. He is still bottle feeding, but doesn't always finish every bottle. Tonight my wonderful mother-in-law and some of her sweet friends threw a baby shower for me. They had everything coordinated to match the colors in the nursery. It was perfect!!! Tim stayed home and kept Brooklyn. I will admit that I was a little nervous leaving at first, but I knew she was in great hands. I came home to a clean kitchen and a peacefully sleeping baby. I have the best husband in the whole world!!!
