Our Two Week Birthday

My first outfit - Don't I look handsome!!!!
All dressed up, wrapped up, and looking at my mommy

It seems impossible that the twins have been here for two whole weeks.  Today brought some steps forward and some steps back.  They weighed both babies this morning and they are gaining weight very well.  Brooklyn who weighed 3 lbs. 3 oz. at birth now weighs 3 lbs. 7 oz.  Tayden who weighed 3 lbs. 5 oz. now weighs 3 lbs. 10 oz.  This is definitely something to celebrate.  Tayden is now doing so well maintaining his temperature and weight that he got to wear clothes for the very first time.  We picked out one of the preemie sleep sacks that we bought last week and he was literally swimming in it.  The nurse had to roll up his sleeves.  He looked so handsome and seemed to know that something was definitely different.  Brooklyn had a minor setback today.  The air she had been getting through her canula made her nasal passages extra dry and she had been having some bleeding from her nose.  The area scabbed over making the passages for her to breathe through extremely narrow.  They put her on steroid nose drops to heal the spots, but she was still working way too hard to try and breathe with the canula.  The respiratory therapist came in and decided that she needed to go back on cpap.  He said that they had taken an x-ray of her lungs and they look excellent, so this is due to her irritated nasal passages.  When I first got to the hospital she was trying so hard to keep up with the machine and you could just see how tired she was.  Once they changed her to the cpap she was able to get some good rest.  We didn't get to hold her, but it was completely okay because we know she needs the rest to help her heal.  Please pray for her and specifically for her nose to heal quickly.  Once she can get back on the canula she will be able to start wearing clothes as well.  It is so hard to know she is in pain and Tim and I would gladly take her place if we could.  I can't imagine her first skinned knee or broken bone.
